Our Impact

Thank you for your wonderful gift of £600.00 which will enable us to help more families with a life-threatened child, like Kareena.

Kareena was just 2 years old when she was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour on her kidney. She was admitted to hospital and started chemotherapy straight away, but there were complications with her treatment which resulted in the removal of her kidney and a further 6 months of chemotherapy.

When Kira, Kareena’s then ten-month old sister, also developed separation anxiety due to all the time their parents had to spend in hospital with Kareena, a Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker, was introduced to them.

As well as helping with transport to treatment (saving the family £120 a week on taxis) and supporting them throughout long appointments or hospital stints, their Rainbow Trust Family Support Worker also helps by spending time with the children so that Kareena and Kira’s parents have some much-needed time to rest or catch up at home. Kareena’s mum says:

“From day one, Rainbow Trust has been a godsend. I don’t know how else to describe our Family Support Worker, she’s just amazing for what she has done for our family. When she knocks on the door, both my girls rush to the door to see her. Rainbow Trust has made the process so much easier for us.”

When a child has a serious illness, time becomes more precious than ever. Your donation will enable us to reach more families, like Kareena’s, providing vital support as a constant when their world has been turned upside down. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your kind gift of £800.00 to support the Hope Rescue Dogs.

Each year, Hope Rescue helps over 800 dogs, the vast majority of them strays with nowhere else to go. We are the only dog rescue kennels in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and help the most vulnerable dogs in communities across South Wales.

We have three stray dog contracts and take every single unclaimed stray from another three local authority pounds, irrespective of their age, breed or medical condition. That amounts to 1/4 of all the stray dogs in Wales.

Your support will allow us to say “Yes” when the next abandoned dog needs our help.

Thank you for giving them Hope.
